been wanting a HD Mini Camcorder for a while. This price is to good to pass up even it does end up being less than stellar. In for one (black)
Wait… aren’t you guys owned by Amazon now?

Newegg. 16gb sdhc for $23 and free shipping.

Awesome. Thanks!!!
In for one. I’ll be throwing this on my slow-stick RC plane. I’ve been using an RCA small wonder, non-HD with decent results (bought for $50 at walgreens i think a few years ago), but this Sylvania video cam looks to be a bit lighter and smaller. Woot!

I really know this pain. My Panasonic DMC-FZ50 does MOV. Luckily I use Premiere Pro so I can handle it. But yes, MOV SUCKS for Windows. I just bought this camera after lately having needed a camera. My Evo 4G isn’t good enough and neither is my camera. Only does 480p and the quality is subpar. Hopefully this camera will do what I need it to. I assume it will.

.MOV is an Apple format, you need quicktime to play it.
I have a mac and am wondering if this camera will pose a hassle for me. I used a friends flipcam and it never worked with my computer. I don’t want to buy this and have that happen. Will the .avi work on imovie?
Why is This Shape so popular now…for Video Cameras and Cell Phones?! I can’t imagine it being comfortable as either.

Any guess on file formats ?

since you just asked for guesses…i’ll take a stab at mp4
Does anyone think this would be better than the $39.99 Vado 4gb 2nd generation video camera?
where I come from LAUNCH EVENT usually involves screaming monkeys with woot capes on.

Foolish move in my opinion. 64mb in the camera and the cards are cheap. Go find one for $50 or even $60 now. /snort

i already did. just got 5 for $140 shipped. thanks.
edit: i still have to add an SD for memory though.
In for 1, hoping its worth it
I’m having trouble deciding whether or not i should get one.

File format: (Video) AVI, (Photo) JPEG

Or just use one of the free video converters and change it to another format of your choice. My Panasonic camera also saves as .mov and I don’t like it, so I make back-ups in whichever format I need.

“Thou shalt not troll.” Sorry, I forgot about that one. I guess I owe Nightghost an apology… but it was sooo tempting when I saw the launch logo.
Since when is Sylvania making anything other than lightbulbs? Or have I just been living under a bridge for the past 20 years…?
Pun intended.
[/quote]
Like Polaroid, Bell & Howell and many other once-proud American companies, Sylvania doesn’t make (or even design) many of their products. Most are designed and made in China, and Sylvania merely stamps their name on. That means that you’ll often see the identical camera with a different name, especially in another country. The biggest problem is that the instructions and interface are often poorly translated and support/upgrades will be non-existent.
As for their light bulbs, I’d be willing to bet that they don’t even manufacture those.
aannnnddd… definitely not Sylvania proper
Oh nice - another pin hole camera.
and they took care of everyone by putting 1 single battery in for the buyer. How nice.
it would have cost them a whole .78 cents to put an additional battery ( That they know you will need!)
If These had Disney characters printed on them it would not be out of place. seriously.
still a Good price though comparativly
Thanks woot!

Well there are other progs that will play mov files. Installing quicktime on a PC is like installing a virus. They don’t always play well together.

Frustrated. I’m on the iPad tonight and the ordering page won’t let me select the color so I can’t order.
Woot, I know this is more of an iPad issue, but can you look into changing that???
This looks like an awesome deal here and I want to be in for at least one!
Edit: this would be Woot purchase 100!

You might want to try a browser other than Safari. (Mercury, Opera Mini, and Collage Lite are all free browser downloads from the iTunes store. I would try Opera Mini first.) Good luck!
