If you want a quick and cheap non HD security camera setup this is pretty good. 960h is a lot clearer then the other typical SD camera systems out there and the cameras typically are wide angle and have better night vision too.
Now if you want a true HD setup these aren’t it as I’ve had similar cameras and now have a 1080p setup and the video is much clearer and you can read license plates in the driveway, these you wont quite be able to read them if that’s important to you. So make sure what you truly expect and if you just want to have fairly clear images to see what going on around your house these will be great, if you want to see very clear details of faces and plates and things, not so much.
OK, these don’t come with cameras so figure on spending between 50 to 100 bucks give or take to get cameras that work with this unit too. If you already have a bunch of the right cameras leftover might be a great deal.

And leftover hard drive for storage too

Will this work with a wireless camera?

This DVR uses BNC wired cameras.

You can buy it with a 500 gig drive or by itself cheaper so the drive issue just depends on what you have laying around in parts. My first security DVR I had a OLD SATA 400 gig drive so I used that as it came with basic cameras and wiring, just no drive for cheap.
I have upgraded everything a few times since then and do have extra cameras and drives around but no need for another non HD setup.

Any reviews on this thing? Amazon has nothing.
