This looks nearly identical to my Ryobi power washer—which is a beast and an excellent value at it’s regular price ($159 - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-1700-PSI-1-2-GPM-Electric-Pressure-Washer-RY14122/203800590). It’s got to be the same OEM.

I run a screen printing shop which means we run the washer many times day every day. The Ryobi has held up far better than any sub-$200 unit I’ve ever had.

Important tip for any power washer: When turning on, first pull the trigger and wait til you get a steady stream of water (no air coming through and making it choppy). Then press the on button while still holding the trigger. Do the reverse when turning it off and wait til the stream is steady before letting off the trigger.

This will make your tool last far far longer than if you do it the lazier way.

Thank you for the info! You sold a pressure washer!
I hope woot gives you a commission.

I agree, and since they are both manufactured in China, they are probably both the same.

The electric model selling here today will cost you $115 with shipping, which is for a used, refurbished machine. You can buy the same machine from Sam’s, except that it’s BRAND NEW. You pay $15 more for the new machine and you can bring it back if not completely satisfied.

I have nothing against buying a used, refurbished machine…but I expect to get a better discount than just $15.

bought one the connection to the hose broke. black max wouldnt honor the warranty. they asked for 180 dollars for the replacement part plus labor. it is cheap sand castings and wont hold up. mine has a honda moter but is basicly honda sitting on garbage parts. u can see the sand in the casting. ive never seen a part break so easily. how does a rubber hose break metal without me feeling it snag or anything. i wouldnt recommend this product in any way.

Gas unit looks good w/Honda power. Too bad there is no 15degree nozzle (I didn’t see it in the picture). Comparison with current setup might be interesting. Just curious about the list of features. Never had a gas unit that needed a power cord.

(1) Black Max ZRBM80920 2,800 PSI Gas Pressure Washer
Soap Nozzle
15-Degree Nozzle
Turbo Nozzle
25-Foot Hose
1/4-Inch Plastic Non-Marring Hose
35-Foot Electric Cord

[MOD: Fixed.]

I got one of these in a woot a couple months ago. I have been pretty satisfied with it. I did quite a bit of washing for a couple of weeks, including washing a bunch of grunge off my dock that previous owner had let grow for years. it held up.

The only thing I miss is having a tip that will shoot a long way, like up to a second story mud dauber nest. The last washer I had had a tip like that and it was handy. But the turbo tip on this one is great as well, just doesn’t have a good distance tip.

I would recommend it so far based on my experience.

I agree, it would be nice to know more about the gas model. I’m thinking someone typed up its description wrong, i.e. “electric cord”. Any chance for a correction Woot?

Got the electric one last time woot put it on special (same price or 119?! Can’t remember). Very satisfied with the electric one. I was afraid I was not going to have enough power to powerwash my house (siding + deck) but it was more than plenty. If you have concerns about power on the electric one, rest reassured that it is more than enough for occasional use in a normal household. If you want to use for commercial, you probably don’t need my advice.
The connection to the hose is indeed pretty crappy: it is located in a bad spot and it makes tough to put the hose on and off. Pay particular attention when doing so. And yes, run water steady before turning the machine on!
Good washing!

Just a bit of advice for those looking to pressure wash their houses. It’s not done with high pressure. To get rid of annual mold/mildew look into “soft washing” which is basically using a pressure washer to spray a bleach solution and then rinse with water all at low pressure.

I have a very similar Black Max gas washer from Sams. It’s worked well for me for 2 years now. I fitted it with a downstream (another search word: downstreaming) chemical injector that will suck a bleach/soap/chemical solution out of a 5 gal bucket. It will reach the roof peaks of my 2-story house no problem. I tried using the onboard tank but it mixes at a constant 20:1 ratio(may be different for this model) which is too diluted. It’s very small also and will require constant refilling.

If you have a ranch style house, I suggest just using a garden sprayer and then rinsing with a hose. If you need more power, this machine works pretty well.

These units are only $300 at Sams if you have a membership so weigh the savings vs refurb for yourself.

2 year warranty at Sam’s Club

Got mine, it’s working fantastico.

Purchased the 2700 PSI version from Woot on 1.9.14… At the time, it was 12 degrees where I live so I could not test it. When I attempted to use it in April, it was completely dead. I emailed Woot and they told me f-off because I purchased it more then 21 days ago. STAY AWAY! The unit is absolute garbage. This was really disappointing because I am a very loyal wooter.

That’s right, the cost of this gas powered Black Max pressure washer at Sams is $299.88 and it’s the same machine you are getting here, except…

*This one is USED and REFURBED. Note: Refurbed could mean anything from making necessary repairs to to dusting it off and putting in a plain brown box and sending it off to you.

*You get ONLY a one year warranty with the refurbed machine.

So, you are giving up buying a BRAND NEW machine and you are giving up one full year of warranty time. You are giving all this up to save $40, which translates to about 13% of the value of a new machine. Woot could do better…and in years past, always did better.

Sorry, I bought the electric one at Sam’s and it doesn’t seem to have much more power than my hose on ‘narrow blast’. Plus it’s REALLY loud. Liked my 12 year old Karcher more.

I bought the electric model at Sam’s this summer - better deal. Works just fine. I’m sure something more powerful (gas model) would work faster, but I like the compactness and plug in ability that goes along it.
