I’ve actually got one of these already…It’s okay. I don’t use it much and I do remember having some trouble getting the timer to work on some occasions. For quick on the spot recording I’ve found that it’s a decent unit. I’ve only recorded a few TV shows…nothing to keep, so I can’t really speak to the quality level. I’ve always picked more storage space over image quality.

Good price. I use it to quickly transfer from camcorder to DVD.

My dad always walks into a store and asks “what’s the cheapest ______ you got?” He does this for pretty much anything he buys and 99% of the time he buys the cheapest thing and it turns out to be crap.
He owns this DVD player. It’s a piece of crap. The remote stopped working and the fan broke within 6 months. Stay away from this DVD player, although it’s fun to laugh and say “serves you right” when he has to get off the couch to turn it off or press play.

The lesson: Don’t be a cheapass like my dad! Stay away from this woot!

I won one of these DVD Recorders for free. Unfortunately I only used it a couple of times… then I let it sit for a while. When I tried it again, it broke on me… I think. Time to go grab it and see if it still works.
