It didn’t last long. Maybe too many strawberries, but really?
The referbs are available again, if you weren’t able to get one through customer service!
Tonight is Mango Creamsicle Gelato (with some diced plumcot on top for texture) :
“No-Measure” Recipe:
Just the full 15oz can of diced mangos, cream up to the max fill line, and juice from 1/4 of a lemon.
I going bold with chocolate ice cream and raspberry gelato. Time to freeze!
Ooooo!! Those would even be delish together!!
I wanted to do a chocolate next, but this was easier, and I haven’t had time yet…
I hope so! I have fresh raspberries.
Customer service did reach out to me, and offered to raise the refund to $50. I took it, and purchased 2 pints. So far I have made the canned pineapple sorbet. Next up is a banana smoothie. The tiny freezer, that I also purchased from Woot, is set on low and is holding my 2 pints.
The chocolate ice cream (cream cheese recipe) came out in little balls and I could taste the cream cheese. Maybe good as a cheesecake recipe variant only. Maybe needed mix-ins or toppers. More cocoa. Not giving up!
BTW, I am not a measurer by cooking standards, so playing with a recipe is my balliwick!
Freezing at the correct temperature?
Yes. It was just weird. I did something but idk what shrug
The rasperry gelato came out perfect! Going to wash everything up and do some more.
So far, I am running through the recipes provided and trying variations. The taste testing is fun! Nothing truly awful yet; just that weird fail up there that was still edible.
I think it’s the creamcheese!
My blueberry cheesecake was kinda little balls, until I respun it - I think I may have even respun twice, but my freezer is also really cold!
Maybe by design then? I hit respin once. Still edible. Will try again while experimenting. Perhaps Strawberry cheesecake, since I have strawbwerries. Or a Hawaiian with berries, pineapple and a coconut mix-in?
I keep saying I want to do chocolate next, but then I saw a Cookie Butter Ice Cream, and now I’m dying to make a Creami version!!
I made a Dole whip with mango. I divided one can of diced mango between two pints. I added about a tablespoon of sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, and a 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice. Then I added about a 1/3 cup of half and half, stirred and froze. I respun once and it was great!
I made strawberry cheesecake and lemon sorbet. FROZEN LEMONADE with a fancy name.
Oooh I have the things to make this. Except the lemon juice, but I’ve got lemonade.
I made chocolate soft serve.
Bought the 6lb mix. Frostline Chocolate Soft Serve Mix, 6 Pound Bag (Pack of 1) https://a.co/d/dfN9kX4
Used 1/4 cup mix and filled it to the line with half and half. It’s pretty good but I’m going to use more of the mix next time. It could be a little stronger. The comments suggest 1 part mix to 2 parts liquid.
No regrets.
I never would have thought to use a dry soft serve mix - what a great idea for a fast mixing treat!
Thanks for the tip! (and I see it comes in other flavors too )
