Pedroncelli folks, how does your '06 compare to your '05? I’d love you to compare and contrast the wines and the vintages.
Similarly, could you do the same for '05 Mother Clone and the two current zins – the blends and other winemaking stats seem pretty similar – 88 Brand Z, 12% Perfecto Sabor in one, 90% Brand Z, 10% Perfecto Sabor in the other
(full disclosure, I thought the '05 was only OK for PS, varietally correct, a bit thin, lighter on the tannins than I’d like, but good for the retail price and very nice for the woot price).
I’m on the fence on this one – would love to try the PS and the Pedroni Zin (edit - not a blend), but suspect I could live without the other 3 (with 400 bottles in my cellar!). Convince me, because I haven’t been in for a while.
WD – don’t think this gets you off the hook for the wineries that were at D&D

The blend?
I would take anyone’s rosé because I’m obsessed like that but I was not impressed by their reds last time around.

Now I know which one is Wyoming

LMAO! I didn’t know either until I got here. There’s good reason that no one pays any attention to it. Fortunately, as far as I can tell, the natives like it that way.
Oh noes! I bought one. Next time I should try to barter fireworks for a bottle or two.

Photo shows a syrah, descrip shows sangi. Both are excellent (though I’m a dedicated syrah fan) but curious which is the mistake?

Waffled briefly between one and two. Settled on one because I have that code that allows me to get the free shipping on a case sometime before the end of June. Liked the Zinfandel from last time – glad there is a different variety as well. I also liked the Sangiovese. The Petite Sirah was ok, but merely so(edit: my understanding now is that vintage was the 2005. This is the 2006). A little thin, and not the kind that I expect to get much better. Pop and pour now. Never had the rose before. Even so, I expect this offer to be on point as to the value. For $10 per bottle, or so, Pedroncelli will always deliver. Would love to reacquaint myself with one of these wines in the next couple of days, or to try something new. Checking the pH, these wines clock in around the 3.6 level, which probably explains why they handle themselves so well. I really like the acidic more tannic stuff, and that’s difficult to provide at this price point. While not totally blowing me away, these wines should be very good at ten dollars. The woot-off offer (last October) really helped me understand some of the nuances between value points, and for that I am grateful.
