Pedroncelli Mixed Red Case
Pedroncelli, it’s italian for QPR!

Btw, I absolutely love this label for the Zin. Don’t recall seeing this before, is this a new style for you Ed?

My recommendation is to scoop the 2009 Zin while you can - it’s going to be a while before the 2012’s are ready.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I made the mistake of rolling the dice (based on mixed reviews) on the recent Renwood Zin offer, and grabbed the Renwood Syrah before that. I say mistake because Woot has made me a Pedroncelli fan (especially the Zin), and I have NO room to store any more wine :frowning:

If I had known about this coming I would have passed on the Renwood. I am a rookie and would have preferred the known quality of Pedroncelli to gambling on a new label.

Live and learn!

I like it, too. They’ve been using it for a while for certain products.

Gaaaackkkkk…no NY? Pedro is an autobuy for me…Waaahhh!!

So excited! I was down to my last bottle of the zin. First time I’ve ever bought 2 cases of anything. This is a really great QPR. Thank you!

I visited the Pedroncelli winery last fall on a trip to Napa. What a great place and what great wine! There is no thinking to this one. I’m in for a case!

Pedroncelli is a great value play wine…as long as you age it.

According to my CT, at 48 bottles, looks like I’m good for a while

At the risk of getting yelled at: I miss the not too long ago days of $99 Pedroncelli cases WITH tax included.
Actually I recall them being as low as $89…those were the days

What do you get when it is still too young?

Again I am a rookie, so forgive me. I’ve purchased 2 of their mixed cases from here, and both times there was a bottle or 2 that was not as good as the rest. So I was wondering if youth was the issue.

Anyone in the Upstate SC area want to split?

The problem with that list is that doesn’t include any of what is being offerred today. With that in mind, I think you know what you need to do.

I have little experience with these wines, since I am trying to hold on to them for this very reason, but I would say that when released as young as some of the Pedroncelli wines were, you can sometimes get a somewhat disjointed, not fully-developed wine. I noticed that a little bit with the 2009 Merlot and a little bit less with the 2009 Mother Clone Zin. They were still good wines and drank above their price point (about $8 a bottle on that order I think), but as others have said, if you give them a little more time in the bottle to develope, integrate and mellow out a bit, the result is a wine that drinks at twice the price point you are paying for, rather than drinking just above the price point.

Hey Wooters! Sorry I’m so late checking in. We had 3 generations of Pedroncelli’s at AT&T park yesterday for an on-field experience in the morning and stayed for the (disappointing loss)game last night. I’ll go through the posts and offer my witty replies!
aggghhh! Pedroncelli is an auto buy for me…but…with my trip this weekend… I think I am going to have to…with a heavy heart…sigh…I can’t believe I’m saying this…pass on this… :frowning:
You could always downgrade your accomodations…or hitchhike to save fuel…I can’t believe you are even considering a pass on THIS one!
Everyone on wine.woot knows I’m a Pedroncelli fan. and that their wines are rpm Auto-buys.

Now, go buy some!

We’re not sure. It’s been off the list for a week by we’ve been given no details.

S/B ok for us…
Yea… I heard that. I hoped that yesterday’s order would be my last for August… Now this.

And to rub salt in my financial wounds, there’s never anything else on Woot to spread my infernal shipping cost over… I’ve already got a Dyson and Roku in every room.

Gotta think about the budget sometime… I’ll be back later this evening hoping this is sold out, or to be “last wooter to woot”
(moohahahaha) I can probably hook you up even if it IS sold out here!!

Thanks–we use it on two very small production items. Block 007 Cab and the Bushnell Zin. We only make about a thousand cases in high quality years.
How is the zin in this offer different from the Mother Clone offered last time? I enjoyed the MC but after bottle 3 the “prunie” or stewed prune taste became too much for me. Also, how many cases of each were produced? Thanks
The Bushnell is a little more refined, and with a couple of years on it is drinking beautifully. Ripe brambly fruit is the best description I think. Good acid, nice balance.

Slightly lower alcohol that the 2010 MoClo–2010 was a tough Zin year, but I think the wine drinks well for a quirky vintage.

We made a little over a thousand cases of the Bushnell Zin and about seven thousand cases of the 3 Vinyards Cab.

BTW–after 3 bottles, I don’t think I could taste anything!
