Solid Reviews over at Pressure Washer Direct

Bought a Simpson Pressure Washer on an earlier woot for a gift. Pressure washer was a mess when it arrived. Oil had leaked all over the unit (they ship it with a bottle of oil). The plug was fouled. The unit was not good to go out of the box. AVOID!

I agree, I don’t own one but read the same reviews at the “mother ship”!!! (BTW, they are selling this BRAND NEW for $85.00 more with FREE shipping at the MS!!!)

This is only 369.99 BRAND NEW!, every day at the big orange box and you can return it if it is defective. Cant return it here if its defective unfortunately. Have to take it to a repair center and have it worked on. COMMON Woot, you really have to get better at your pricing and give us some real incentives to buy!!! WOoot has really been slacking in its buying power!!!

I can’t find the mother ship online retailer on a google search, how can I find the website?

Bought a different Simpson Pressure Washer model, MSV3100, earlier this year in February. Since it is quite cold here (Green Bay, WI) in February I had to wait a while to use it. When I started it, the bypass valve didn’t work and the unit wouldn’t run.

Woot wasn’t any help as it was now beyond their return policy (I believe 30 days) and the company said “all units leave their facility in working order” and it must have been damaged during shipping!

Long story short … It took over 6 weeks to get it fixed. I had to go all the way up to the CEO and VP of Customer Service to get it done. As others have recommended, buy one at your local retail store where you can return it if need be.

BTW, customer service and repairs are not performed by Simpson. The contract that out to a 3rd party, Servantage Dixie Sales. Extremely frustrating and poor customer service.

Mother Ship = Amazon. That is who owns Woot now!!!

What continues to slide doWn hill. this unit can be purchased at big box stores for about $30 more brand new. I used to visit once a day now I visit once a month and it’s still disappointed in what I see offered and the prices. I’m sure Amazon will still support this extension as it loses money until it’s just one giant stinking turd that they could no longer justify.

Seriously think twice before buying this pressure washer. I bought a Simpson pressure washer from Woot this past spring and it was a disaster. They sent a completely different model worth about $100 less when sold brand new. Fortunately, Woot provided a refund but I had to deal with reboxing the pressure washer and lugging the pressure washer to FedEx. Take a look at the 146 comments from fellow Wooters.

It has a Honda GC series motor which is good but they don’t show the pump or tell you what the GPH rating is. If you’re buying a pressure make be sure it will do the job. There’s not enough information on this one to make a decision.

2.5gpm and 3100psi…it’s a good consumer setup and typically washers in this range run around $400.
Commercial units have heavier pumps and run about $600.
I bought one of these in a prior woot, that was a customer service nightmare for woot. I did get one of these units and it works well for what limited use I’d have for it(maybe 10 hrs a year).
My only warning is that the unit “walks” so the rubber foot can leave a mark on concrete…or when I’m washing my cars with a foam cannon…caution!

I would love a new pressure washer, but I quit buying anything from Woot that has moving parts and especially nothing “refurbished” after getting burned on a saw. Quit during the first use and Woot said, “not our problem,” and the manufacturer wouldn’t answer the phone. Any money that I saved on purchases at Woot is lost and even more if I ever take my saw to get repaired. Save yourself some grief and buy this from a local big box store. I bought my last pressure washer from a local Sears Outlet. It was refurbished but I wasn’t worried because I knew they were just a few minutes away. I’ve had it for 10 years with no problems but noticed a loss of pressure with last use, so need a new one, but not from Woot.

The engine maybe a Honda but the GC is the lower end model. You really want the GX series.
And the pump is a Axial style pump which is the middle grade pump. A Triplex pump would be the best but you won’t find one of those on a new machine around this price.

Seriously, Woot!..you’re going to play this gamble again with these Simpson refurbished pressure washers? The HUGE debacle earlier this year with these is enough to leave a sour taste in anyone’s mouth, and I didn’t even buy one then. At least they’re not being sold as “Manufacturer Refurbished,” since they weren’t before, and I do see that the warranty was upgraded from a “90 Manufacturer Warranty,” as it was before, to a “1 Year KMS Warranty.” KMS being the company ultimately responsible in the past.

In case you weren’t privy to the issue back in February (I think it was), the units being advertised were not the units being sent out, nor were they refurbished by Simpson, but some third party, and the units arrived in often broken pieces or pieces for other models that didn’t fit the one in the box. The boxes for the units were at times soaked in fuel or oil. The Staff even came through the forums ranting that they cannot legally accept them back, since they were gas engines. Woot! took days to even respond to people in a proper manner, not including canned responses from their overseas CS unit. Most people were initially told that the problem was not Woot!'s and lies with the manufacturer, but Simpson flat out stated that they did not remanufacture the units, nor had even a clue about Woot! selling the units. Woot then began offering a $15 refund, at first, to keep the wrong item, even though it was a model that was at least $100 cheaper than the one advertised, then they upped it to $30, and ultimately $40. At the same time they offered hush money, they also offered an RMA, if you didn’t want to keep the unit, even after telling people they legally could not accept the item back due to its gasoline nature.

The end result is that it was a very heated and frustrating process for those involved as a consumer.

I’d have to ward you against buying this item, especially because Woot! will not accept returns on these, unless it turns into another huge mess, and even then, it will probably take days or weeks to resolve.

At least we know there were people who got what they paid for. I really do like Woot!, so I hope this works out this time, but man what a game of roulette they like to play with this KMS company…

Why is it the first time I looked at this power washer it was $317 and now I read the reviews and the price is $299??
