Previous on Wine.Woot:
2005 Woot Cellars Humbug! &
2005 Woot Cellars Polyphemus
were both by Kunde. Humbug was mostly Syrah, buttressed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, Sangiovese, and Barbera. Poly was a blend of Syrah, Merlot, Barbera, and Sangiovese.

Cesare is enjoying some wine in the hotel bar tonight!!

Their cab and chard are pretty good. I suspect these may may end up in the ‘pretty tasty’ category.

I’m 99% beer geek but the 1% leftover has had this particular grape juice and it is a solid choice. If I drank more wine (I’m big on wild ales and Brett, some of which dabble into the red wine territory) I’d grab this but the wife is pregnant so we’d never get through it.

Good buy though IMO, I recall a distinct oak that I don’t usually find present in a wine with as much body as this has.

What’s the drinking window on these?

Really enjoyed the Kunde tasting room on one of our first trips to Sonoma, I remember thinking at the time that all of their wines were really solid.

I gotta add Knude to my tasting room stops, they make some good juice. I would love to try their Barbera.

Earlier this month I went to the People Choice judging contest of Lake County wines and the Barbera being made there is fantastic!! WineDavid could we please get some Barbera in the rotation?

Kunde was my first ever woot purchase, my first ever wine woot purchase, and my 2nd or 3rd wine purchase ever. If I had the $ to get this one I’d be in with a quickness but alas, no dough means no kunde sangiovese for me. LOVE sangiovese. Dig some kunde. Next time for sure. Wootoff before Christmas maybe?

According to the Vintner’s Voicemail there are limited quantities available of this, Kunde’s last ever vintage of Sangiovese.

If it sells out today there won’t be anymore but there’s always the chance that it won’t sellout in which case it probably would make a final appearance during the next Wootoff.

If nothing else, you might want to check back throughout the day/night to see if the button starts bouncing.

Sadly for American wine lovers , only a few varieties sell well to the ill-informed, heavily-marketing-led general public. Cab Sauvignon , Chardonnay, Pinot Noir , Merlot , and Zinfandel are the big five wining goods.

Good Sunday Morning Wooters!

Kunde4thGen here. We’re so happy to have our Sangiovese make it’s final appearance in the land of Woot. Only 450 cases were made of our 2007 Sangiovese and we’re down to our last little bit which is today’s Woot offer. When the Woot team came calling, how could I tell them no!

Glad to see you here!

As someone asked above, do you have a feel for the drinking window on these?

Loads of flavor in this one - deep cranberry with soft touches of caramel, toast and, to make things interesting, a rich milk chocolate component.

The wine tastes really nice right now but can still go for several years yet. 5 to 7 years would be safe bet

Ah - see my answer is here! Thanks!

For all if you cooks out there, I love pairing this wine with hearty winter meals. The inherent crispness of our Sangiovese makes it perfect to pair with pasta served with a spicy red meat sauce. Try it with spaghetti and meatballs served with garlic bread. YUM!

I was just going to express my regrets and say I hope this shows up in a Woot Off when I read this-now I have to buy-even though the packages are going to be arriving in large numbers soon and the Fed Ex man is going to call for an intervention. Also, whenever I see Mill as the frist to buy I know it must be something good-Who is this mystery person anyway-I have never seen a post-just the purchase-and he (or she) is picky-
