Some kind of map, yeah.
I’m not doing the moderating, by the way. Behind every good Toon there’s a great bunch of anonymous guys. Lucky bastards.

ahhh, to be anonymous.

That’s a shirt I would buy (GI Metro).
Metro (subway) maps are colorful, easy to design, and rather ubiquitous, not to mention i’ve always liked when maps are made of things that shouldn’t have maps made of them. the DC metro map was the first thing i thought of when i saw the theme, and if anything shouldn’t be on a map, it’s your rectum…
If I lose hard in AC this weekend I’ll come back and campaign even harder…try to ease the hurt.
Would the creator of this one just throw a map in there somewhere? I would buy 3 of these…

Well Uranus is on a map of the solar system
har har har … I’ll be here all week

My guess is they would like to steer the designs away from “Words on a Shirt.”

Is that like Snakes on a Plane? Cuz if it is, they’d make millions.

Evidently, misogyny is also out (see directions) – a policy that I don’t mind honestly.

Hey guys, I just made a design… but I dont really know how to do all the things that are required to get it up for woot. Would someone mind telling me what programs you use to resize, vectorise (i dont even know what that means!) ect. ?
Also, I used a public domain image, and made alterations, and I still dont know how to get it to just six colors. Surely there is a program for all this?
Get out your trusty copy of Photoshop and Posterize it. You can also vectorize it without having to trace it in Flash by doing a Trace Bitmap. Obviously, these are quick and dirty methods, but if you done have time to learn or youre in a pinch…
“bed to fridge to bed”…good idea.
/although i would have added “to can” in there somewhere
Hey… I think certain people should have a GPS built in to their brains so in times of trouble we can find them… So, here goes my solution…

Words on a shirt!!!
Huh, that’s a direct (and poorly executed) lift from T-ShirtHell.
If I could change GI Metro at all, I’d keep the design over a white background, but frame the ‘map’ and put it on a neutral colored shirt (like cream or heather gray). Too bad Asphalt is out, because that would have been a very appropriate ‘theme’ color for the design.
Woot didn’t like mine because it was “misogynistic”
get a sense of humor woot
Indeed, it is surreal the lengths to which some people will go to find something to complain about. We limited the shirt color this time because we want some variety in the offerings here, and things were starting to get a little monochromatic. Believe it or not, it’s not all about sales. But we’re confident the winner of this Derby will sell out the way every other one has, anyway.

ha ha great response Jason Toon…
not to mention that the columbus shirt has no sort of map on it… yet it’s still there…
Nice on the Metro thing…
Can we make a rule about no arrows to your crotch? It’s really not funny. Been done. Go buy it somewhere else. You’re not inventive, you’re not clever, and no one will vote for you except you and your alias account. I’m still waiting for a time I actually have a good idea for a shirt to submit one - but I will never vote for an arrow to your crotch.
Newb question:
I’m using Illustrator CS (not CS2) and I can’t figure out how to fill in the shirt with the color that I want to use. The paint bucket only works on defined shapes. I know that in CS2 there is live paint but is there a solution for CS1?

well, i haven’t submitted the print-ready file yet, but if I make changes that large I’d probably have to re-submit…and by Monday, it’d probably be too late. if i weren’t rushing to get it submitted, i might have thought of that as well. in fact, i probably would have gone a step farther and aged the map a bit (torn/curled edges, maybe a bit of graffiti. but oh well.
